The Midget U18 team will be led by Head Coach Sam LeBlanc, and Assistant coach Joey Jaskot.
The Midget 18U team will play approximately 50 games, competing in the DVHL and AHF, as well as various tournament/showcases. The team will practice 2 hours on ice per week and receives 3 hrs of ice practice every third week. The benefit to this model is it provides each player and team an even mix of team structure, skill development (Power Edge Pro, shooting, and Technical Skating), and gaming to develop situational awareness and competitiveness.
Ask anyone that watches the York Devils, and they will say they are a Highly-Conditioned team. They play all out for the entire game. Why?
The York Devils have year round access to the Athlete Performance Center located in-house here at the York Ice Arena.
Each player receives access to the gym during hockey season and will have programmed Hockey Specific off-ice workouts on each practice night.
Matt Doyle in coordination with Jeff Brandes, York Devils Official Strength and Conditioning Coach, constructs a workout platform that focuses on establishing proper and safe workout techniques.
